Diabetic Foot Care & Neurovascular Assessment

Diabetic Foot Care & Neurovascular Assessment

Diabetes can affect the feet by changing circulation, nerve function, skin health and healing capacity. A diabetic foot assessment helps identify early signs of reduced blood flow, nerve changes, pressure areas, wounds or infection risk.

Our neurovascular assessment checks circulation and sensation in the feet and lower limbs. This helps detect risk factors early and allows us to provide clear advice, monitoring, treatment or referral where needed.

Why Diabetic Foot Checks Are Important

Diabetic foot complications can develop gradually, sometimes without pain or obvious warning signs. Regular podiatry checks can help detect changes early, reduce the risk of wounds and support long-term foot health.

Our Assessment Process

How Your Diabetic Foot Assessment Works

Our assessment focuses on checking circulation, sensation, skin health, nail health, pressure areas and overall diabetic foot risk. This helps guide prevention, treatment, monitoring and communication with your GP or specialist where needed.

01

Medical History & Diabetes Review

We review your diabetes history, symptoms, medications, circulation concerns, previous wounds, footwear and any changes in sensation.

02

Circulation Assessment

We assess blood flow to the feet by checking pulses, skin temperature, colour changes and, where appropriate, Doppler or vascular screening.

03

Nerve Function Testing

We assess protective sensation and nerve response using tests such as light touch, vibration, pressure sensation and reflex screening where clinically relevant.

04

Results, Care Plan & GP Report

We explain your results, identify any areas of concern and provide a clear care plan. Where needed, we can also prepare a report for your GP or specialist to support ongoing management.

Your's to Do

Prevention & Care

Keep Blood Sugar Well Controlled

Poorly controlled diabetes can damage nerves and blood vessels over time, increasing the risk of numbness, poorx healing, ulcers and infection.

Check Your Feet Daily

Look for cuts, blisters, redness, swelling, callus, colour changes or wounds — especially if you have reduced sensation.

3. Wear Supportive, Well-Fitting Footwear

Shoes should reduce pressure, protect the skin, and fit properly to prevent rubbing, corns, calluses and wounds.
