WorkCover Podiatry

WorkCover Podiatry

We provide podiatry care for patients with work-related foot, ankle and lower-limb injuries. Where lower-limb biomechanics may be contributing, we can assess pain and dysfunction from the lower back, hip and knee through to the ankle, foot and toes.

Our focus is on assessing the cause of pain, improving function, supporting recovery and helping patients return to work safely where appropriate.

Podiatry for Work-Related Injuries

Work-related injuries may occur due to prolonged standing, repetitive strain, walking on hard surfaces, poor footwear, trauma, lifting, altered gait or overload. A podiatry assessment can help identify contributing factors and guide appropriate treatment.

Our Assessment Process

How WorkCover Podiatry Works

Our approach focuses on accurate assessment, practical treatment and clear communication with the patient, GP, insurer and treating team where required.

01

Initial Work Injury Assessment

We assess your symptoms, work duties, injury history, footwear, walking pattern, lower-limb function and treatment goals.

02

Diagnosis & Biomechanical Review

We identify the likely cause of pain and contributing factors such as overload, footwear, gait, joint restriction, muscle weakness, foot posture, leg length differences or work demands.

03

Treatment & Recovery Plan

Treatment may include footwear advice, taping, strengthening, stretching, load management, orthotic therapy or referral for imaging or further care where required.

04

Reports & Ongoing Review

Where required, we provide progress updates, treatment recommendations and clinical reports to support communication with your GP, insurer, employer or rehabilitation provider.

Biomechanics, Orthotics & Work Injury Support

Work-related pain may be influenced by how the foot and lower limb move, load and absorb pressure during standing, walking or work activity. Where relevant, we assess the biomechanical relationship from the lower back, hip and knee through to the ankle, foot and toes.

Orthotics may be recommended where clinically appropriate to improve load distribution, reduce strain and support recovery.

We assess, design and prescribe orthotics, ankle-foot orthoses and lower-limb bracing options to support function, comfort and safety.

How it helps:

Workplace Footwear & Load Management

Footwear, standing time, walking surfaces and work duties can all influence lower-limb pain. We provide practical advice to help reduce aggravating factors and support safe activity progression.

How it helps:

Clinical Reports & Communication

WorkCover claims often require clear communication between the patient, GP, insurer, rehabilitation provider and treating team. Where required, we can provide reports outlining assessment findings, diagnosis, treatment recommendations and progress.

How it helps:

Custom Orthotics & Load Management

Orthotics are prescribed as part of a broader treatment plan to optimise alignment and manage load across the lower limb.
